Football superstar Ronaldinho and his brother Roberto Assis have been arrested in Paraguay for attempting to enter the country with false documents on last Wednesday. The pair who are also business partners told the Paraguayan police those documents were given to them by a friend as a gesture, however the prosecutor said the two brothers had been tricked and deny wrong doing. At the court in Asuncion on Saturday the judge ordered that Ronaldinho and his brother be placed in pre trial detention.
The pair were expected to travel to Paraguay to promote a book and campaign for underprivileged children.
The 39 year old was named the world best player in 2004-2005 by FiFa, he also won the UEFA champions league with Barcelona in 2006 and also won the world cup with Brazil in 2002.
